About Me

I'm Dr. Peter Drakeley, the person behind Drakeley Labs.

By day, I'm Chief Revenue Officer at EazyStock, where I've spent almost two decades helping SMEs use technology to make better decisions about inventory, operations and growth. Alongside my commercial career, I completed a PhD exploring how small and medium-sized businesses adopt Inventory Optimisation, combining academic research with real-world business challenges.

But Drakeley Labs isn't about my job. It's about my curiosity.

Why Drakeley Labs exists

Drakeley Labs is my personal laboratory for exploring ideas at the intersection of AI, data, decision-making, business and human potential. It's part notebook, part workshop, part research lab and part public experiment.

I'm fascinated by how technology can help people and organisations become more capable—but I believe technology is only part of the answer. Better businesses are built by better people: people who think clearly, keep learning and make better decisions.

That's the philosophy behind Drakeley Labs.

What I'm exploring

Most of my work revolves around questions like:

  • How can AI solve real business problems?
  • Why do organisations struggle to turn data into decisions?
  • How can SMEs adopt new technology without unnecessary complexity?
  • What makes high-performing teams, leaders and organisations?
  • How can we continue learning in a world that's changing faster than ever?

Rather than claiming to have all the answers, Drakeley Labs is where I explore them.

Beyond the day job

Although my career has centred on business and supply chain software, my interests stretch much further.

I have a background in theoretical physics, which gave me a lifelong appreciation for first-principles thinking and elegant explanations. I'm currently on what I call My AI Odyssey—a long-term journey into AI engineering, data science, Python and machine learning, learning not just how to use AI, but how to improve myself alongside it.

Outside work, you'll usually find me coaching grassroots rugby or football, reading, playing rock 'n' roll guitar, trying to get fitter, or disappearing down a rabbit hole on quantum computing, neuroscience or whatever has captured my curiosity that week.

What you'll find here

Drakeley Labs is where I share what I'm learning through:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • Decision-Making and Systems Thinking
  • Human Performance and Leadership
  • Supply Chains and Inventory Optimisation
  • Books, Research and First-Principles Thinking
  • Experiments, Projects and Lessons Learned

Some articles are polished. Others are experiments or ideas still taking shape. That's intentional. Drakeley Labs isn't about pretending to know everything—it's about learning openly, testing ideas and sharing what works.

In short

Drakeley Labs is where my worlds collide: business, AI, research, physics, books, coaching, music and the pursuit of better ways to think, learn and build.

Everything here is guided by one simple belief:

Better Humans. Better Business. Better World.

Because when curious people combine good judgement, continuous learning and powerful technology, extraordinary things become possible.
